Tokyo officially Tokyo Metropolis is the de-facto capital city of Japan. Tokyo is also a major commercial and financial hub as it serves as the seat of the country's government. Tokyo was once one of the largest megacities on Earth.

Tokyo was destroyed during the War of 1996, after a City Destroyer positioned itself over Tokyo Tower and fired its weapon. Tokyo sustained the highest number of casualties than anywhere else on the first day of the invasion. The area leveled by the blast was four times as wide as the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II, and the resulting wall of destruction ended every human life within a twenty-mile radius.[1]
