The energy shield is an advanced defensive technology created and used by the Harvesters to protect their ships and fighters from damages.

Harvester energy shield

The Harvesters made effective use of energy shield technology. Every Harvester vessels from the common Attacker to the massive City Destroyer use energy shields. Demonstrated in the War of 1996, the technology was extremely effective in protecting Harvester forces from human conventional weapons and thus allowing them to overwhelm Earth's military forces while only suffering near zero casualties. Even nuclear weapons were unable to penetrate through the shields after the United States military failed to annihilate a City Destroyer over Houston with a nuclear warhead.

The Harvester Queen that participated in the 2016 invasion was equipped with a personal energy shield that saved her from detonated cold fusion bombs.

Human energy shield

After the War of 1996, the Earth Space Defense reverse-engineered energy shield technology from the wrecked City Destroyers. Beginning on January 1, 1999, the ESD first applied shield technology to an F-22 Raptor. The ESD had also developed weapons, such as tactical nuclear missiles, to phase through Harvester shields and bypassing their defenses, and the technology to neutralize Harvester shields.

During the 2016 invasion, the ESD used energy shield generators from Area 51 to trap the Harvester Queen’s personal ship and containing the resulting detonation of cold fusion warheads.
