The Gulf War, also called the Persian Gulf War, was an international conflict that was instigated by Iraq's invasion of Kuwait on August 2, 1990. The invasion was met with international condemnation and prompted a United States-led military coalition to expel Iraq's forces from Kuwait on January 17, 1991 and continuing through to February 28, 1991.
Thomas Whitmore served in the Gulf War as a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot in his distinguishable service allowed him to become the 42nd President of the United States.
Royal Air Force pilot Reginald Cummins participated in bombing runs over Baghdad in which he was negligent in destroying a gymnasium that killed 180 Iraqi civilians. This incident left Cummins guilt-ridden.
