Karmal Yamani is a Saudi oil tycoon and an influential member in Saudi Arabia.

Karmal Yamani was the vice minister of petroleum export. He and his brother had been the chief architects of the 1973 oil embargo, an exercise in economic brinksmanship that had quadrupled his nation's wealth almost overnight. He was known as one of the most shrewd and powerful men in the Middle East. Karmal was comparatively liberal with his daughter Fadeela's upbringing.
