Miriyam Marx was a IAF pilot who fought in the War of 1996.

During the War of 1996, Miriyam and some of her fellow IAF pilots retreated to the Rub' al Khali and took shelter at a oil-drilling station manned by the Saudi military.

The IAF pilots were treated with mistrust by the camp's Middle Eastern occupants, and most especially towards Miriyam's gender. Because of this, Miriyam and her compatriots were only tolerated by their British counterparts, who represented them in the Saudis' meetings. Miriyam was vocal of leaving the camp but was denied by the Saudis.

When Saudi Commander Ghalil Faisal encouraged the coalition to defend Mecca from the aliens while realizing the futility against their enemies' force-field technology, Miriyam and the other pilots conspired to desert. However, Miriyam changed her mind when news from the Americans' renewed counterattack proposed on July 4th. Miriyam participated in saving Mecca and helped in destroying the City Destroyer.
