The Moon or Luna is Earth's only natural satellite. It was the first celestial body that humanity landed on, which occurred in July 20, 1969 with the landing of the United States' Apollo 11.
Humanity began colonizing the Moon following in the wake of the War of 1996. In 2009, the Earth Space Defense established the ESD Moon Base, turning the Moon into one of several planetary defenses.[1]
