The Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit is an American heavy strategic bomber, featuring low observable stealth technology designed for penetrating dense anti-aircraft
defenses. The bomber can deploy both conventional and thermonuclear weapons.
During the War of 1996, a squadron of B-2s from Whiteman Air Force Base participated in a nuclear strike against a City Destroyer above Houston. The first B-2 launched its warhead at the alien vessel, destroying the city in the process, but failed to penetrate through the Destroyer’s shields.

Behind the scenes[]
- The interior set of the B-2 cockpit had been previously used in the 1996 film Broken Arrow.[1]
- The patch on the shoulder of the B-2 pilot was that of the 509th Bomb Wing, which was the direct descendent of the 509th Composite Group of World War II; the 509th CG conducted the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
