Randy Quaid (born October 1, 1950) is an American actor known for his roles in both serious drama and light comedy. In Independence Day, he portrayed Russell Casse. Other notable films Quaid has appeared in include Midnight Express (1978), A Streetcar Named Desire (1984), the National Lampoon's Vacation series, and Elvis (2005). Quaid was nominated for an Academy Award, BAFTA Award and a Golden Globe Award for his role in The Last Detail in 1973.
