The SETI Chief was the chief project scientist of the SETI Institute.
Biography
On the early morning of July 4, 1996, the SETI Chief was woken from his sleep by one of his technicians, Richard Yamuro, who informed him of his discovery of an alien radio signal. The technician let him hear the signal from the phone, causing the man to bolt upright from his bed and accidentally bumping his head on the bunk above.
The SETI Chief and several technicians properly listened to the signal in which they soon realized that the signal was coming from the Moon. Soon afterwards, the supervisor informed of this discovery to the U.S. Space Command.
