The Pentagon is the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense in Arlington County, Virginia, across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.

History[]

On the early morning of July 2, 1996, the Pentagon was alerted by the SETI Institute of a space anomaly that had been detected approaching Earth. United States Space Command was stationed at the Pentagon and keeping track of the anomaly. General William Grey was summoned to the Pentagon and learned that the object was slowing down, indicating that it was intelligently controlled. Grey immediately relayed the news to the Secretary of Defense Albert Nimziki and President Thomas Whitmore.

The Pentagon was destroyed in the destruction of Washington.[1] About two-thousand Pentagon personnel survived by taking shelter in the steel bunker beneath the Pentagon.[2]
